About DenLumen

DenLumen is a free pet and family care app, built around one principle: recommendations are only as good as the citations behind them. We track milestones, daily care, growth, training, and gear for the dogs, cats, and children you're raising — and we cite every claim that touches your subject's wellbeing.

Why DenLumen exists

Most pet apps are owned by companies whose actual business is selling demographic data, advertising space, or hardware. The "care" parts are loss leaders. The recommendation engine optimizes for what generates revenue, not what's right for the animal. DenLumen flips that: we earn affiliate commissions on gear we'd recommend regardless, and that is the entire revenue model. No display ads. No data sales. No paid placements.

The same problem applies to family apps: new-parent demographic data is one of the highest-value advertising profiles in the world, and apps that sell it can offer "free" features that DenLumen can't compete with on feature count alone. We bet that families would rather pay nothing for a smaller feature set that's honest, than pay nothing for a bigger feature set that's quietly selling their child's data to a baby-brand advertising network.

What we believe

How we make money

Affiliate commissions, full stop. When DenLumen recommends Only Natural Pet, The Farmer's Dog, Lemonade Pet Insurance, Lovevery, Babylist, Earth Rated, Chewy, Petco, Dutch, Meow Mobile, BarkBox, Pet Honesty, Bobbie, Healthybaby, or any other partner, the outbound link is wrapped with an affiliate tracking parameter. If you complete a purchase, the partner pays us a percentage. The recommendation logic is the same whether the partner exists or not — we apply the same editorial rubric (safety, ingredient quality, evidence base, durability, brand integrity) and pick the best in each price tier. We don't accept paid placements. We don't run native ads.
