Log a weight

2 minute read · Updated June 2026 · Growth & tracking

Weight is the single most useful number for tracking healthy growth. Log it every couple of weeks for a puppy or kitten, monthly once they're full-grown.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open Growth

Tap Growth in the sidebar/drawer. The current subject's chart is pre-loaded.

    Tap Add weight

Tap the + floating action button or the Add weight card at the top.

  3. 3

    Enter the weight

Pick lbs/kg/oz/g. For tiny puppies and kittens, use grams or ounces — pounds rounds away too much detail.

FAQ

How often should I weigh?

Puppies and kittens: every 1–2 weeks until 6 months, then monthly. Adult dogs and cats: monthly. Children: at well-checks (the chart syncs to standard pediatric intervals).

What if I'm not at the vet?

Bathroom scale + you (weigh yourself, then yourself holding the pet, subtract). For small animals, a kitchen scale is fine if they'll sit on it.
